At Hybrid Quarters, we don’t conform to the standard coach vs members hierarchy; we are a community of training partners, supporters and friends, every person as important as the next. Without our incredible team, this gym would not be where it is today. Our very own members helped lay the floor, paint the walls and build every bit of kit in here. We help each other out in the gym and beyond.
We hold regular social events from a coffee after training on a Saturday to Summer and Christmas parties. Whilst there is no pressure to join us outside of the gym, we really hope you find yourself at home within our gym family.

Daisy Self - Founder and coach

Daisy’s expertise lies within specific trauma rehabilitation and boasts a profile of working with ACL impaired clients to people living with health conditions like muscular dystrophy. She does this through a movement-based approach, utilising an individual based assessment and collaborative library of exercises.
If movement strategies are a key focus for the development of your activity goals, then Daisy will help you to achieve them through a variety of unique approaches.

What to expect when you meet Daisy:
- Her favourite snack is a fig roll
- She will play Drake and Stormzy all day (and rap along)

Laura Hitt - Co-owner and coach
Laura is a coach and nutrition specialist focused on helping people find a healthy balance with training, diet and lifestyle. Passionate about making sustainable changes, Laura can work with you on improving your nutrition and fuel (keeping your favourite things included, of course) alongside data-driven check-ins with body composition scans so you can be the healthiest, happiest version of yourself.
Laura competes in Hyrox Pro Doubles Women and has a particular love for how inclusive and accessible the sport is. She also has recent experience in Olympic Weightlifting and Crossfit and a history of Swimming and Dancing.
Having been in a corporate career for a number years (working with the mental health service and education), Laura utilises her events management, communications, marketing and partnership development experience to host Hybrid Quarters events schedule and handle all things social.
What to expect when you meet Laura:
- She LOVES food and is always eating
- Dad jokes will come out and you need to (fake) laugh
- Loves a burpee (psycho, we agree)

Sara Mahany - Co-owner and coach
Sara is one of our newer coaches at Hybrid Quarters. Her passion is very much around fitness being for everyone, from the Mums and Dads to the children you’re trying to set an example for. In terms of training focus, it’s all things hybrid training with a real focus on the Hyrox movements.
Sara’s working career to date is very much in the legal world. She came to fitness later in life than your average and feels very passionately that making time for fitness is something that anyone can and should be making time for to benefit their life in various ways. Sara is a mum of young children and has a first hand understanding of starting a fitness journey from scratch, dipping back in when you’ve had a long break and the juggles that come with struggling to make time for yourself.
Sara competes in Hyrox singles and doubles and after coming into the fitness race rather later than some, she secured herself a place in the world championships after her third race. She’s determined to make her way back there this season so you will see her putting a lot of hours into running and sleds! If there’s one word you can describe Sara as, it’s determined so we have no doubt she’ll get there. Sara has a very much can do attitude. If you think you can’t do something, she will find a way. By setting small incremental goals, she will keep you motivated and show you that nothing is impossible (it just might take time).
What to expect when you meet Sara:
- A huge smile and warm welcome
- Some sort of Hyrox-related chat
- Probably a new pair of trainers (she loves a new shoe, much to Daisy’s frustration!)
